We were walking to the train yesterday and encountered this rather enormous spider.
It was spinning a huge web that went from the wall of the garden to a parked truck on the street-- so basically spanning the width of the sidewalk. I'm curious to see whether the web is still there today, and if so, if the spider managed to catch anything on it. A butterfly? A bird? Perhaps a small child?
I saw another one of these while walking in East London yesterday. It's an epidemic!!
ReplyDeleteomg i love spiders. i had one as a pet in my dorm junior year and her name was gladys but it turned out she was feasting on my neck while i was asleep so we parted ways. it was still hard to sleep after gladys left though because i missed her and also she got the bed and all the furniture in the divorce.
